About the treatment

Unfortunately, around 30% experience insufficient effect from their first depression treatment, for example with antidepressants or psychotherapy. Approximately 60% experience serious side effects from antidepressant medication.
Re5 depression treatment is safe and effective for depression that has proven difficult to treat in the first attempt.

Unfortunately, hospital capacity is limited and progress is slow. Few people with depression receive treatment in hospitals. As a result, many do not have access to the latest technologies that enable effective treatment of depression without significant side effects.

News: Re5 depression treatment becomes available to many more people

1. Get in the treatment

Re5 depression treatment is offered at several public psychiatric wards for selected patients, as well as some private psychiatric clinics. You can find a list of locations offering the treatment here.

2nd price

A Re5 treatment course costs 14,750 DKK and includes rental of treatment equipment and access to ongoing technical support throughout the treatment course.
The treatment lasts for 2 months and consists of daily 30-minute stimulation sessions, typically for 8 weeks (56 days).

3. Expected results

In clinical studies conducted in Danish hospitals, over 60% of those treated experienced either complete freedom from symptoms or significant improvement of their disease
Among those who achieved complete freedom from symptoms, over half remained symptom-free two years after treatment. A follow-up study also showed that re-treatment is very effective in relapse.
If side effects are experienced, they are generally mild and transient, such as mild nausea or headache, and typically occur early in the course.

4. Technology

Re5 uses the so-called T-PEMF technology to stimulate cells throughout the brain.
T-PEMF is an acronym for Transcranial Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields, which describes the process and technology used to induce electrical activity in the brain's nerve cells.
The treatment involves placing a series of electromagnetic coils on the head in a special structure. When current is passed through the coils, a pulsed electromagnetic field is created that reaches the brain and affects the existing electrical voltage of the nerve cells. This stimulates brain activity and connections (neural networks) that are affected when you have depression.
The patented technology has been developed by researchers in Denmark and is designed to accurately mimic the natural electrical activity found in the brain.
